Nanomagnetic Self-Organizing Logic Gates

The end of Moore's law for CMOS technology has prompted the search low-power computing alternatives, resulting in promising approaches such as nanomagnetic logic. However, logic is unable to solve a class interesting problems efficiently, it only allows forward computing, due need clocking and/or thermal annealing. Here, we introduce self-organizing gates that can dynamically satisfy their logical proposition, irrespective whether signal applied traditional input or output terminals, thus allowing reversible computing. We present design nand gate, logically correct states which are occupied equally thermodynamical equilibrium, and illustrate its capabilities by implementing Boolean circuitry two-bit factorization problem via numerical modeling. Our approach offers an alternative path explore memcomputing, unconventional paradigm usefulness already been demonstrated solving variety hard combinatorial optimization problems.
